Our love story started as something so that almost didn't happen. My fiance (her name is Barbi) and I met on a dating site (that will remain anonymous). I first contacted Barbi and introduce myself. I made small talk with her and hinted that I wanted to see Dumb and Dumber 2 and she totally ignored my hint. We spoke for a few more days through the dating site. She than told me she was removing herself from the site and she would like to stay in touch with me. So she gave me her number. I texted her the next day. She rudely told me she was eating. I than apologize to her and she said she would call me back later. I waited and waited and she never wrote back. I had lost hope and thought she gave up on me. So I went on with my life. Until a month later when all of a sudden a receive a hello do you remember me text with a stunning picture of this woman named Barbi. It was her!! She remember me!! Wow!! Exactly one month later.(not amused) So instead of writing back and looking desperate I made her wait. About 4 hours later but I made her wait. When I finally called her she had the sweetest New York accent I had ever heard. We spoke for about 4 hrs and laughed and laughed. This went on for the next 3 days and than I asked her if she wanted to meet. I was a bit nervous to ask her but I did what was the worse thing she can say? No? She said yes and asked me to come to her house. I couldn't believe she wanted to meet at her house! Wow that was quick. When I got to her house which was literally 2 minutes away from my house. We were practically neighbors. She greeted me in front of her house. She was so beautiful. So we sat in front porch and talked for hours. Her mom startled us and asked me if I wanted some Cuban coffee. A few days later we went out on our first date. I remember I asked her where she wanted to eat and she told me Friday's at Dolphin Mall. I was perplexed with her answer. I was expecting Texas of Brazil or some very expensive restaurant. I asked her again and she gave me the same answered. Right there and then I knew I wanted to date her exclusively.
She is different than any other woman I had ever dated and she was not only beautiful on the outside but even more beautiful on the inside. She is down to earth, funny, humble and a hard worker. She also has a passion for photography and comes from a long line of photographers in her family. Her father and her brother. So she completely understood me and wanted to learn more about the art.
A month into dating we made it official and were exclusive I introduce her to my mother and father and than the rest of the family. For almost 2 years she was and has been my rock and we have grown more and more in love with each other. On my Birthday June 13, 2016 Barbi surprised with the most Amazing and most generous gift anyone has ever given me. She surprised me with tickets to New York City!! That was always my dream to go there and now I was going to go thanks to my love! We were going to go in December around the holidays. She knew I always wanted to see the New York in the winter. I was driving her crazy for about a year that I would love to go to New York. I knew I wanted to married her at the beginning of April of 2016. I really wanted to marry here on our first date. But if I asked her to marry me on the first date she would have run away and call the cops on me....lol
So I started ring shopping since April trying to look for the right ring for her. When she gave me the surprised I thought it was the perfect moment to plan something beautiful for her. I wanted to propose to her somewhere special at first I thought Disney since she loves Disney. But than I thought why not where she was born and raised. Where she still has her family and friends. So since June of 2016 I started planning the proposal. I wanted it to be paparazzi styled. I had done a few of those myself. As the months were getting closer I still didn't have a ring but I had spoken to her best friend and I was looking for photographers. Three weeks before leaving we went clothes shopping for our trip and while at the mall I went to Kay's and got the ring that I had been eyeing for months. I felt that the ring would suit her. It was such a simple yet pretty ring with a heart shape accent to symbolize the love I have for her. She didn't even have a clue I had the ring in my pocket.
The day had come where went to New York all this time she had no idea the surprise I was going to have for her. The biggest surprise of her life. I was nervous, happy and scared. I had already spoken to her best friend and to the photographers that were going to take our picture. It was a husband and wife team. I decided it was going to be the day after Christmas in Central Park. We woke up early that morning I told her to get all pretty up. She was a little confused because I had told her that we were going to do a mini photoshoot with her best friend. But she still went along with getting ready.
All the way to Central Park I was so nervous and she kept asking me if I was ok. I told her I was fine, but I really wasn't. I was scared that she would say no.We finally got to central park and we met up with her best friend and her best friend's family. We started walking close to the pond that was in the park across from Gasby Bridge and than I went on 1 knee and asked her to be my wife. The team of photographer that I hired also made a small video of the proposal. For a split second I blacked out and didn't know what had happen. It was the longest minute of my life. All I heard was YES and a crowd of people in the back clapping and cheering. I didn't realize that there was so many people at the park. I had come back to my sense and couldn't believe I had just asked my dream girl. The love of my life for her hand in marriage and she said YES! It had to be the best day of my life so far!! I am now looking forward to planning our wedding.
