As you know Clem Photography was based in Miami for almost 9 years. It was created by me Clemente Gomez and than I met my beautiful fiance Barbara Ansorena. As you well know Barbara was born and raised in New York and lived all her life there until 6 yrs ago when she moved to Miami. It was destiny that brought her to Miami. So she can meet me or should I say so I can meet my Chinita(China Doll) from New York as I lovingly call her. Both Barbara's parents are from Cuba but they met in Astoria, Queens and that is where they fell in love and made my love. Her mom and dad than moved to Flushing, Queens a few months before Barbara was born. But they decided to have Barbara in Manhattan's General Hospital.
We do I come into the picture? When I met the love of my life 3 yrs ago I was fascinated with her New York accent and as a child in Cuba my dream of America was New York. When I was finally in America I always dreamed of New York. In Miami I always admire the New York style and loved my Hip Hop music from New York. If I had one goal in life it was to go to New York. So in 2016 Barbara surprised me with tickets to New York for my birthday. My birthday is in June. But we were going in December for the holidays. It had been 5 yrs for her and it was the first time my dream was coming true. I was going to the city I always dreamed of. In December of 2016 we went and it was not only the most important trip for me because I decided to propose to Barbara but I finally met the city of my dreams. What I had dreamed about all my life! It was just like in my dreams and in the movies. New York was magical. Beautiful, Gritty, historical. There was a story in each corner.I felt like I was in another world. This world full of magic, adventure. The city that never sleeps and it really doesn't. It was love at first sight. The minute I hit the streets of New York the very next morning. We flew in at night. I knew that we had to move down here. The views of the houses and buildings, the cold crisp air, the way people dressed, the motion of the bus and train, the food. Everything just looked and taste better than anywhere else I had gone. I knew I was destined to move down here. When we went back to Miami I felt sad and knew that I had to do something to make my dreams come true. To move to New York.So Barbara and I set a goal that we were going to move to New York by the end of 2017. We had a plan to work really hard to save enough money to move. Things didn't go quite as plan as for 2017 was not the most prosperous time for me at the beginning. But we were still determine. So we worked really hard. Barbara made a few phone calls to her old job and to family and friends. To see if we can stay while looking for an apartment. As the year was drawing closer. Barbara was determined I was having my doubts. For me it would mean start all over again. At least I was known in Miami. But who knew me in New York? No one! I started contacting people from New York on social media. I started Networking from Miami to people from New York. Barbara decided to move 2 months before me because at least she can get a job for the both of us and an apartment. Plus her mom was dying to move back to New York. So in November of 2017 our journey began. Clem Photography was moving to New York. I sent off my Chinita from New York with about 2,500 business cards. It took a little over 2 months and a lot of money to get an apartment and settle in . But we got a beautiful apartment in the area that we dreamed of. Barbara got not only her old job back but a dream job of her for part-time and we started spreading the word the Clem Photography had settle in the greatest City of all New York City. On Jan. 09, 2018 the missing part of the puzzle was finally in New York. Me!! I couldn't believe I had left my family behind, everything I had ever known for the past 23 yrs of my life and my clients behind to start my dream job in my dream city. So far it has been difficult but everyday I go out rain or shine and pass my business cards, set business meetings and network. I go out and make my self known. I hustle and hustle without sleep. I have had in only 2 weeks doors slammed in my doors and yet I keep going. I will keep going until everyone in New York City and around the world know who Clem Photography is. I have never settle and I am not about to settle now.
Why New York City? Because New York has a large Varity Photography opportunities. It's not just Weddings, Quinceneras and Maternity. New York has art, culinary, fashion, sports, multimedia, different business and a array of different types of photography you can do. New York is full of history, there is so many places to take pictures. Just Central park takes days to take pictures. The buildings, the train, the seasons there is snow, leaves falling , leaves blossoming. The people way of dressing. New York is gritty, dirty, dark yet it is bright, fun, exciting, yet elegant, classy, historical. You have everything in just 1 island called Manhattan and than you have the other 4 boroughs. You also have the other states right next door. You have New Jersey and Connecticut. You have Time Square, Flushing Meadow Park, the Hudson River, Washington Square park, Chelsea Piers, Tribeca, Wall Street, Battery Park, the Meat Packing District, Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo, Manhasset, 5th Avenue. You have Bayside, Whitestone, Great Neck, Long Island, you have Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island. You have Upstate, Niagara Falls. You have city , country, suburbs. You have everything and anything. A melting pot of beautiful people from different ethnicity. This is why I moved to this magical place.
Don't get me wrong I would love to travel the United States and I will and also the world. But for now I know I have the world right here in my on town.
